Smoke cannons (outdoors only)

The coloured cloud is the most dramatic reveal you can do, and it's spectacular on camera. It's strictly an outdoor option, and wind is everything. Stand with the breeze at your back, keep guests a few metres away, and hold it well clear of white furniture and the pool. Check your building or community rules first, because some don't allow them.

Confetti poppers (the apartment-friendly choice)

Confetti cannons work indoors, they're safe with kids around and they give you that perfect burst-of-colour photo. Choose paper confetti over plastic, and put someone in charge of the vacuum afterwards.

The giant balloon pop

A big black balloon filled with pink or blue confetti, popped together as a couple, is a simple classic. It's easy to control, it works in any space, and it's included in our Big Reveal package.

The cake cut

This is the quietest reveal but a lovely one, especially if elderly relatives are guests. The colour is hidden inside the sponge, so it needs a baker you trust, and it looks best with a styled cake table behind it.

A word on fireworks and sparklers

You'll see plenty of gender reveals online with fireworks and spark fountains. In the UAE, fireworks are tightly regulated and need proper permits, so please don't buy them for a home party. If you love that look, hotels and licensed event venues can sometimes arrange approved effects. Ask them, not us.

Planning Tips for a Gender Reveal in Dubai

Choose indoors or outdoors by the season. From October to April, a garden or terrace reveal at golden hour is hard to beat. From May to September, move it inside or start after sunset. Balloons in direct summer sun don't last long, and neither do guests.

Plan for the people who can't be there. Many Dubai families have grandparents and siblings in another country. Set up a phone on a tripod facing the reveal spot and start the video call five minutes early, so nobody misses the moment because of a bad connection.

Book one to two weeks ahead. That gives time to customise names and wording on the backdrop. Weekend slots in the cooler months fill up first.
